Privacy Policy
Effective May 2026 · Service operator: Varry LLC
This policy describes how Varry LLC (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use riverbendfun.com and related subdomains we operate (collectively, the “Services”). The main site is an unofficial River Bend–themed visitor showcase. River Bend Membership Corporation (“RBM”) is a separate legal entity and does not control these Services unless RBM states otherwise in writing.
Community subdomain
We plan to host a member discussion space at a community subdomain (for example, community.riverbendfun.com) powered by FluentCommunity on WordPress. That space may collect profiles, posts, comments, reactions, uploads, and notification preferences under its own login. Community privacy practices are described here and in FluentCommunity’s privacy policy. Where both apply, the more specific notice for the feature you use controls for that feature.
Information we collect
- Server and edge logs. Hosting (Cloudflare Workers, assets, D1) may record IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, referrer, and browser metadata for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Accounts (main site). The main site uses Better Auth for member and staff accounts (email, name, hashed password,
and an email-verification status). Members can post classifieds and manage submissions; accounts with a staff role also reach the
/admin/*dashboards. We email a verification link via EmailIt when you sign up. Credentials are stored in the deployment database. - Alert emails. Weather and river alert opt-in, preference flags, and last-sent fingerprints are stored on the community WordPress site. Informational emails are sent via EmailIt when telemetry thresholds are met (not official RBM dispatch).
- Community accounts and content. On the FluentCommunity subdomain, we and the plugin may store display names, avatars, posts, comments, classifieds, service listings, media you upload, moderation flags, and activity needed to operate feeds and notifications.
- User-generated listings. Classified ads and service submissions on the community site are stored with the content you provide until removed by you, moderators, or administrators.
- Approximate location for demos. Weather widgets send latitude/longitude (defaults near Falling Waters, WV) to Open‑Meteo from your browser. River and water-quality demos may request USGS, NOAA/NWS, EPA ECHO, or Water Quality Portal data using public site identifiers—not your precise GPS unless you change defaults in the UI.
- Share-card generation. When social previews are built (Peekshot at build time or on first `/og/*` request), page titles, descriptions, and branded HTML templates are sent to Peekshot to render PNG images.
Cookies and similar technologies
Authentication uses session cookies on our domain. The community subdomain may set additional cookies for WordPress sessions and FluentCommunity features. We do not ship third-party advertising pixels on the main template unless explicitly added later; if we do, this policy will be updated.
How we use information
We process information to operate the Services, authenticate users, display maps and telemetry demos, run community features, generate share previews, respond to support requests, comply with lawful process directed at Varry LLC, and protect against fraud or abuse.
Third-party services
Many features rely on vendors and public-data providers. Each has its own terms and privacy practices. By using those features you also accept the applicable vendor policies, including:
- Cloudflare — hosting and CDN (privacy).
- Open‑Meteo — weather forecasts (terms).
- USGS / NOAA / NWS — river and alert demos (NWS disclaimer).
- EPA ECHO & Water Quality Portal — water-quality context (public regulatory APIs).
- Esri & MapLibre — map tiles and rendering (Esri terms).
- Google Fonts & Font Awesome (cdnjs) — typography and icons loaded from their CDNs.
- Maryland DOT CHART & West Virginia 511 — traffic camera embeds and links on /travel load from official state DOT hosts (CHART, WV511); your browser may send IP and device data to those sites when a player loads.
- RentCast — optional aggregated listings data when enabled (terms).
- Peekshot — Open Graph image rendering (API terms in Peekshot account).
- FluentCommunity / WPManageNinja — community plugin (privacy).
On campers.riverbendfun.com, members may submit service directory listings and moderated reviews. Those posts are stored on the WordPress community host (FluentForms, FluentCommunity) under the same stewardship practices as other community content; they are not official River Bend Membership Corporation endorsements.
We do not sell personal information as a data broker. Listings and map overlays may include addresses from public records or third-party feeds; treat them as informational, not verified private dossiers.
Copyright and your content
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting on the Services you grant Varry LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and moderate that content solely to operate the Services. Do not upload material you lack rights to share (copyright, trademark, privacy, or HOA-restricted documents). We may remove content that appears infringing, impersonating, or inconsistent with our Terms of Use or community rules.
Site branding, templates, and original copy are © Varry LLC unless noted. Third-party marks (for example River Bend, Jellystone, Esri, MapLibre) belong to their owners. Parcel and telemetry data are aggregated from public sources with attribution in the UI where required.
Retention and security
We retain logs and account data as long as needed to operate the Services and meet legal obligations. Administrators control
database backups and deletion for classifieds and community content. Use HTTPS, restrict database credentials, and rotate secrets
such as BETTER_AUTH_SECRET.
Your choices
You may browse much of the main site without an account. Avoid entering passwords, payment-card numbers, or sensitive HOA record numbers into demo fields. You may request account deletion or correction via the contact below; community posts may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.
Deleting your data
To request deletion of your personal data—including any information we received through Facebook Login—follow the steps on our Data Deletion Request page. We delete or de-identify covered data, normally within 30 days of verifying your request, subject to limited legal and backup-rotation exceptions described there.
Children
The Services are not directed at children under 13. If you enable minors to create accounts, obtain verifiable parental consent where required (including COPPA) and configure community moderation accordingly.
Changes
We may revise this policy by posting an updated version with a new effective date. Material changes to community processing will be noted on the community subdomain when feasible.
Contact
Privacy questions for Varry LLC’s operation of riverbendfun.com and its subdomains go to the stewardship contact published for this domain. HOA-only matters—membership, dues, docks, gate rules, clubhouse reservations, ballots, architectural review, resale packages, insurance, and counsel—must be routed to River Bend Membership Corporation, not through these Services.
